Reason why US is out sourcing job to India!

News1 - A US jury has awarded $100m (£62m) in damages to 10 workers who said a leak at a BP oil refinery in Texas in 2007 had made them sick. (BBC)

News2 - For Bhopal gas leak, Union Carbide paid 1,000-2,000 dollars to victims who were left unable to work or with long-term ailments. Now it is 25 years on, Bhopal still suffers from gas leak tragedy. Around 4000 peoples died and about 100,000 or more people suffering from chronic illnesses.(CNN)

If the Bhopal tragedy happened in US then as per news-1, Union Carbide must spend USD 40000 million ($10m per head) for those victim’s family and another USD 100,000millon (one million USD per head) for those people suffering from chronic illnesses.

Solar Power

Last two days I am reading more about Solar Power and the cost involved to implement for domestic usage, it is not that much expensive guys!

Down the line, I will install Solar Panels in my home.....also I am thinking about doing business in solar power kits for domestic usage.

It seems, if we install solar panel for domestic usage, it will take 30 years to get back the initial investment (for optimum efficiency)

That's not a good deal. The solar panel producing companies should invest more in R&D to reduce the initial cost

Copenhagen Summit

"More than 50 papers join in front-page leader article on climate change".....that was nice joke....if these 50 news papers stop publishing unwanted news or if they reduce the number of pages per day ....think there is no need for another Copenhagen Summit.

The funning thing about Copenhagen Summit is....USA's attitude towards developing countries, think US will end up with nothing.

As I said last week, the Copenhagen summit failed, to predict that I didn't do thesis. It is very simple. US Government cannot think good to other countries. For US their country is world and other countries are "Rest of World".

All the developed countries want to treat developing countries as "Trash Cans".

"UN says Copenhagen deal 'a start'" .........and we all know that there is no end or conclusion for this deal.

In 1994, 16.200.000 tons of tissue paper were produced in the world. The consumption is increasing by 5%, think as of now it must be doubled. If we reduce the usage of tissue paper....think there is no need for another Copenhagen summit

I think, self discipline and change in individual's life style will be the only solution for Climate Change.

Treachery to my friendship

After finishing Diploma in Chemical Technology, I joined B. Tech Chemical in SVCE, Chennai as lateral entry (direct second year). About 17 students joined during that year, most of them are not from Chennai including me.

I felt very much uncomfortable to mingle with Chennai students. Their Hi Fi talks, city cultures (we call it as peter guys) etc made us to stare. I am not good at English by that time (STILL). I felt like fish out of water.

By that time, I met another lateral entry person; he is very simple, thin and confident. Almost in first few meeting, I felt that he is another best friend I got. He also must felt the same. With in very short period we became thick friends. He is GANGADHARAN

Those days with Gangadharan are my life shaping days.

He is the person

  • Sowed “entrepreneur ship” seed in my mind
  • Taught “Social responsibility”
  • Made me think more about “Patriotism”
  • Guided me to read lot of books other than subject
  • He insist me to be “Go and Getter” (I am passive most of the time)

He is the Boost, complan, Bonvita, Horlicks ect for me during my college days. We were always together.

During our 6th or 7th semester, Like “Hammer blow on Tom’s head by Jerry” I realize that we were isolated ourselves from our fellow class mats and
friends. Thanks to our friend Arul, he explained me the importance of mingling with other classmates. He said “you guys should make more friends for carrier assistance or higher studies”

We both don’t have any strong back up. I thought I cannot help him better for his carrier and I realized we should mingle with more peoples. I tried to explain this to Gangadharan. He said “together we are stronger…..one good friend is better than several average friends”

I am not convinced by his words and started to avoid him. I stopped talking with him and I changed my class room seat. He was very much upset about my behavior. Literally I saw the pain he is undergoing by that time. I am convinced myself that I am doing the BEST to him.

The distance between us widens and we even stopped smiling and avoided the eye contacts. It became talk of class…”Raj & Gangadharan became enemies”. My homemates also asked “what happened to Gangadharan past few weeks he is not coming to our home” all I said to them was “I am forcing him to mingle with other people and I know how to get him back in my life”

After few months our friends (Arul, Venkat, Guru, Thanges, Basker) tried to bridge our gaps. One fine day they took us to canteen and told us to sort out the differences, we both said we don’t have any difference of opinions or any other problems. We shook hands and I apologies to him. I felt happy that Gangadharan is back in my life. Thanks to Venkat, Arul, Guru, Basker and others.

Now we are friends again but we were unable to be as close as we used to be. I am unable to fill that thin gap.

I realized that no one can mingle with others by force, it should happen by nature. Once again I apologize to him via this blog. Gangadharan I made mistake.

History is Important

Hi World

Welcome to "Zero to Infinity" blogspot.

Yes, "History is Important".

Few months ago it happened to watch the "Randy Pausch Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams". It is very touching and  impressive. Those who missed that can watch here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji5_MqicxSo

Inspired from that lecture I started this blog to record few of my life experience.

I don't know how far it is going to be interesting and informative to the others. But for History's sack I started to write.
